Data discovery – don’t wait for the snow to melt!

After stepping out on a warmer day, it was interesting to see how many items surfaced after being hidden under the snow. It made me realize there’s a synergy here – between looking for something buried in the snow and searching for valuable data, which can be difficult to discover due to improper information management, or lack of search capabilities. Not only are companies required to store and quickly discover stored documentation, but in today’s world of increasing video, search capabilities need to consider how to uncover those video and audio files, to be compliant.

Most of us are aware of the rate data storage needs are growing – we’ve been reading about it for years and we also know it’s not slowing down. With more companies looking for cloud storage solutions, software developers are working harder to deliver solutions that address the needs and demands facing cloud storage concerns, especially when it comes to quick search and eDiscovery requirements. With all the data, storage options and increased regulations, how does an organization dramatically reduce the time required to react to eDiscovery requests? The answer is to make sure you migrate your data with the right solution, one that enables responsive keyword and date searches across all your data—including the tens and hundreds of terabytes of unindexed file share files.

Also consider solutions that offer the ability to visualize what you have in cloud storage to search your data with policy queries, view dashboards that provide insights automatically and can identify what’s relevant to your discovery inquiry! Not just with documentation queries. Work with a solution that applies searching audio and video files with transcription capabilities – like applying an ultrasonic sensor to search for items buried in the snow.

For example, Microsoft Azure recently announced the availability of Azure Cognitive and Media Services, which provide audio and video file capabilities for automatic indexing, and the transcription of both audio and video content. With these capabilities built around Microsoft’s technology, software developers can begin to build storage and information governance applications to include these powerful service capabilities.

LiquidData provides solutions that use intelligent managed cloud archive specifically designed for long-term archiving of compliance and unstructured data on the Microsoft Azure platform, and offer you complete access controls and encryption. With intelligent cloud-based archiving in which eDiscovery data sets can be uploaded, managed, and secured, and the ability to provide real-time translations, access controls, tagging and review of your documentation and file transcriptions, you can find and export your data with ease – like quickly melting snow on an 80-degree day!
